A few thoughts from Jakob Böhme on freedom:
The idea of freedom, which became central to classical German philosophy, finds its first justification in Jakob Böhme.
“Since the Primordial Source or the Divine is unconditional, eternally free will and the origin of all things, human beings become all the more free the more they establish a connection to the Divine within themselves.
This is possible because human beings, as physical, psychological, and spiritual beings, are themselves part of the Eternal, the Divine, or the Primordial Ground.
Therefore man is able to put into perspective that what is only personal and socially conditioned. He rather strives to understand the meaning of the ALL thereby comes to know also the meaning of himself: as a whole and free person.”
