Albert Einstein was much criticized after the Second World War because of his attitude towards the atomic bomb. Many years after his death a letter was found which obviously was written by Einstein to his missing daughter.
“When I introduced the relativity theory only few were able to understand me; and what I’m now going to show you, in order to transfer it to mankind, will cause misunderstanding and prejudices in the world, as well……
There is an extreme powerful force, for which scientists haven’t found yet a formal explanation. It is a force, which contains and determines all other forces and which is behind every phenomenon, which exists in the universe. We haven’t been able to identify it yet. This universal force is LOVE…..
After mankind failed to use and control the other forces of the Universe, which turned hostile against us, it is imperative, that we nourish us with an energy of another kind.
If we wish to survive, if we want to find meaning in life, if we want to save the world and all sentient beings, which inhabit it, Love is the only and last answer.
It could be that we are not ready yet to build a love bomb, an artifact, which is powerful enough to destroy the entire hate, selfishness and greed, which afflict our planet earth.
However, each of us carries within ourselves a small, but powerful generator of Love, which waits to be released…..”
Pierre Teilhard de Chardin shared Einstein’s insight and wrote the following lines about the energy of love:
“Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.”
