When I hear that people sometimes talk about Jesus Christ having been murdered, it is worth remembering that at the Jewish Passover it was customary for the people of the Jews to have the power to vote themselves on which of the two men condemned to death on the cross should be pardoned: Jesus, who called himself the “King of the Jews”, or the murderer Barabas.
I once read that Pontius Pilate’s wife was healed of “hemophilia” by Christ. She revered Jesus and was convinced that he was innocent and that the charges against him were based on misunderstandings about his mission and lies and intrigues by his opponents.
She implored her husband Pontius Pilate not to condemn Jesus. As Roman governor, Pilate found himself in a dilemma between his wife/conscience and the law/his public office. He remembered that on the Jewish Passover, the assembled people were allowed to decide whether to pardon one of the two accused. In this way, he was able to satisfy the law and his conscience and place the decision in the will and hands of the people.
So it happened that Pontius Pilate put the fateful question to the Jewish people as to which of the two accused he should pardon, Barrabas, who had been condemned to the cross, or Jesus, whom he himself believed to be innocent. But the people shouted that they wanted Jesus Christ to be crucified. So the people decided (the high Jewish council had already demanded the sentence beforehand, so that pressure was also exerted from there).
In my opinion, we really do have to proceed from divine providence and should be careful with the word “murder” of Jesus Christ.
Here we are dealing with an event and decisions from the spiritual world, whereby all those involved played their intended role in this salvation event.
Incidentally, Christ is imprinted in the depths of all our souls as an archetype into which we are all to mature one day and realize Christ consciousness as the goal of human spiritual evolution.
