So far I have put together arguments of a false spirituality which claims we can change the world as we change our perception aka quantum physics
My answer is NO! We cannot change the world as long as we stay in the ordinary consciousness (5 percent conscious, 95 percent unconscious).
I call the ordinary consciousness also lower consciousness and how to expand the consciousness this is at the center of all mystical traditions, Jewish, Christian, Muslim and also Eastern practices – Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism.
One of the important concepts in Jewish mysticism (Kabbalah) teaches that whatever happens anywhere in the universe reverberates throughout the totality of creation. Thus our lives are affected by what is happening everywhere; moreover whatever we do in our lives affects everything in the universe.
This may sound a little pretentious. We often view ourselves as tiny specks of dust in a universe in which distances are measured in light-years and the number of known stars exceeds the limits of our imagination. This sense of individual limitation is a natural outcome of our limners thought process.
However, Kabbalah or the old mystical traditions teach that consciousness is a holistic continuum. Once we enter a holistic frame of reference in which all part are complete and are replicas of the whole, then everything in the universe is integrally connected.
Whereas lower forms of consciousness have limited choice in the way lives will unfold, we can engage in activities which will raise our consciousness and the consciousness of those around us. This is important to hold in mind: We cannot raise our own consciousness without raising the consciousness of the world. More important according to Kabbalah the process of expanding consciousness in ourselves and the world is the fundamental reason why we are here. It is said, when we make no effort to raise the level of our own consciousness and that of the world, we abdicate our humanness.
Mystical traditions give us hundreds of spiritual practices to reach a higher level of consciousness. But this means hard continuous work on yourself, on your body, soul and spirit. Start with focusing on the breath, sitting still and practicing awareness and being conscious in the present. You will soon see how difficult this practice rally is. The mind is always active. More than 99 percent of our thinking fits into the ordinary mode perhaps even as much as 99.9 percent. If we observe our own mind close enough we can recognize the presence of the NOW underlying every thought. Ordinary mind states have a wide range of emotions and usually a clear sense of personal involvement with the world. This identification has immediately the quality of separation built into it, me and you, me and the world, me and everything that is not me.
However in higher stages of consciousness there is no identification with “me” and no sense of past and future, only awareness in the present. We feel alert, mindful, luminous, bright, connected, we integrate with everything happening around us, and we feel relaxed and whole.
In our world today we have come to cultivate negativity, (negative news sell!), violence, power, status in life, money is being worshipped in the internet and in work space. And our individuality has reached a level of pure egoistic behavior, of pride and envy. But the sages taught us that negativity separates us from humanity and from the source of the Universe, whatever name you will give it.
We are strongly advised to avoid negative thinking or saying negative things about others, rather to cultivate positive states of mind, which we can accomplish in many ways. For instance, spending time in contemplation, meditation and prayer, being modest in our needs, respectful of the needs of others and satisfied with our state in life. And live skillfully so a to avoid causing harm to others, to animals, to all of nature.
These thoughts have been around for a long time. As thoughts they are noble, as consciously performed actions they are transformative. When we act on these we make not only our lives more harmonious, but we bring the world closer to harmony and peace and to a higher level of consciousness.
Along with greater awareness comes less ego-centeredness, for the ego dissolves continuously as we merge into a vast interconnectedness with all of creation.
When you are aware that by raising your own level of consciousness you bring the totality of creation ever closer to the goal of a higher level of awareness, then you have the master key to construct a new reality for all mankind. It all begins with YOU!
Therefore don’t waste your time any longer, the answer is not out there, im other people, in books or workshops. Don’t bemoan the state of the world and say it’s hell. Hell and heaven, paradise is only a breath away side by side in the center of your being. You can make the choice where you wish to live.
Human consciousness is unique in that it has the quality of being “in the image of God”. This quality is expressed by what we call free will. We are informed that acts of lovingkindness, over the long run, will bring a higher level of consciousness to everyone in the world. We have the choice to do them or not. Nothing is inconsequential in this world of ours. Every encounter with another being is a poet of contact upon the universe pivots.
When we enter into this frame of mind, reality as we see it becomes a vast opportunity to experience interconnectedness of all creation. From this perspective, we come to realize that every piece is integral in the unfolding of creation, including us. If we are trapped in the sense of separateness, “me“ and “the other“, then there is no interactive process, no love. If we enter the realm of NOW, then we are in a state where everything is connected and in process with everything else. Past and Future are only in our ego-minds, we are copartners with creationing, and each person has the full freedom of choice to change the universe. Each time we make consciously use of our free will by giving, loving, we are in copartnership with the infinite source of giving. When this is accomplished consciously, i.e. with clear awareness of what we are doing, then we are raising the our own consciousness and the consciousness of creation.
So when you are discontent with the situation of your outer life, the situation of the world, accept that the task is yours, to rise from ordinary consciousness into a higher level. There is much work to do. Begin NOW.
