It is of great value to explore the profound dimension of the texts of the Bible and the way of Jesus for our own way of life.
Reading letters is useless, it is the spirit that gives life, as the Bible says.
It is often only when you experience great emotional upheavals and crises in your own life that the scales fall from your eyes and the profound truth contained in the words of Jesus awakens a whole new understanding.
That was my own experience – I was once far removed from everything I associated with the Bible and childhood faith. It was literally an “enlightenment” experience. As a result, I was suddenly able to accept the whole story of my own life and recognize my own path in the path of Christ.
It says in Philippians: “The reality of Christ is also in you, Christians, it has been incarnated in you, even in your own bodies”. Paul refers to Christ as the second Adam, meaning that the exalted Christ lives in each of us as an archetype (C.G. Jung called it an archetype), as our true self.
And our task in life is to establish unity with this archetype and to follow the path of Christ. It is a path that repeatedly leads into the depths, into the unconscious, bringing to light and making conscious what has been split off and repressed. It is also a path that brings opposites together;
because that means living in love: I and you, my counterpart, we are 2 persons; but in love these two merge and something new emerges from the two: a unity.
